Successful Mental Health Open House Event in Aurora
On Tuesday, October 4th, Riverwalk Eating Disorders and Wellness Centres hosted an event called Fireside Conversation. This event was open to the public, and anyone interested in learning more about seeking support for mental health issues was welcome to join. Members of Riverwalk's Faces of Recovery campaign joined in conversation about the Stages of Change model and how it can factor in to making decisions about recovery. Faces of Recovery members also shared personal stories of struggles, successes, and strategies in order to support and inspire the event attendees.
Riverwalk holds several such Fireside Conversation open events each year, and also has other forms of support, including peer support, educational workshops, and a vibrant Expressive and Therapeutic Arts Program. Referrals are required to register for the program, but all inquiries are welcome.
If you or someone you care about is struggling with a mental health issue (including but not limited to eating disorders), please reach out and get in touch.
