Many Portuguese people live and own businesses in the southern area of York while many Eastern Europeans and Jewish people live in the east end of York. Many Blacks, Latin American and Asian descendants also live in various areas throughout York. York’s ethnic diversity has helped to shape this district and it has helped it grow into the colourful area that it is today.
