Country close to the city.
Whitchurch–Stouffville is a municipality situated in the mid-eastern area of the Regional Municipality of York in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario.
The Town of Whitchurch–Stouffville consists of several specific communities and the intermediary countryside. The largest urban area is the community of Stouffville which is a principally rural community with large livestock and agricultural farms that seem to stretch forever into the horizon.
One of other communities is the Musselman Lake community which is wrapped away south of Aurora Road and east of Highway 48, along Lakeshore Road, and is a unique pocket of Swiss-style homes with front porches and decks that provide panoramic scenes overlooking Musselman Lake. This lake was formed during the last ice age.
Whitchurch- Stouffville’s rural hamlets each offer something contrasting. The Pine Orchard community at Highway 74 and Warden Avenue, is stippled with country estate homes. Beautiful lagoons, many of them man-made grace these estates.
In the countryside many of the farms are finished by an Ontario farmhouse style home. These alluring homes are typically one-and-a-half-storey brick homes with a fanciful gable over the front door entrance.
Stouffville has a thriving shopping district located on Main Street in the downtown core. This shopping involvement is enhanced by the historical commercial buildings that line this street. This region of Main Street is quaint, but yet still large enough to have a broad selection of retail shops, restaurants and professional offices.
