The town of Whitby

Whitby is a community in the Durham region of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) within Southern Ontario. Whitby is located on the shores of Lake Ontario, bordered to the east by Oshawa and to the west by both Pickering and Ajax. Whitby is a very attractive community in the Durham region because, while the southern part is urbanized and has all the amenities that you would need, the northern part of Whitby is still quiet and rural. People love Whitby because of its historic homes, its proximity to the City of Toronto, its beautiful downtown, its outdoor spaces and its waterfront. Many major corporations are also based out of Whitby including Sony of Canada and BMW Canada Inc.
