Abilities Centre's Academy for Student Athlete Development (A.S.A.D) Launch
On Friday, September 23rd, the Abilities Centre launched its Academy for Student Athlete Development (A.S.A.D) program. A.S.A.D provides targeted athletic and academic support to student athletes in grades 9-12 as they strive for success at provincial, national and international levels of competition. Each student within the program attends the Abilities Centre for half of the day, and the other half at a school within the Durham District School Board (DDSB). The DDSB delivers the academic component of A.S.A.D, where each individual athlete is provided with an individualized learning program which aligns with individual pathway plans.
The Academy is designed in collaboration with outstanding partners, including the Durham District School Board, Ontario Basketball Association, Elite Training Systems and Neurochangers.
