Culturally diverse, West Hill is largely a residential suburb of Toronto dotted with strip plazas, big box retailers, and old motels used to house much of Toronto's transient population (refugees, homeless).
Despite the industrial development within the neighbourhood, West Hill is bordered by the three parks: Morningside Park, Colonel Danforth Park, and East Point Park which meets Lake Ontario at the east end of the Scarborough Bluffs.
Morningside Park and Colonel Danforth Park are both situated in the ravine and are popular amongst joggers and cyclists, and even cross country skiers during the winter.
