The Township of Wellesley
The Township of Wellesley is located in the north west corner of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo in Ontario.
The township encompasses the communities of Bamberg, Crosshill, Hawkesville, Heidelberg, Kingwood, Knight's Corners, Linwood, Macton, St. Clements, Wallenstein and Wellesley.
The county surroundings and rolling hills, along with the small town feel, have gently transformed the township into a growing commuter town.
The railways bypassed the area, so while other areas grew and prospered, most of the Township remained rural. Alternately of progress, Hawkesville has preserved the charm of the surrounding sugar maple woods and the quiet Conestoga River banks.
The Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival held in the fall enchant locals and visitors alike. The festival begins with a pancake breakfast.
Wellesley has also held the Wellesley Santa Claus Parade early in December since 2005 which consist of floats created by many local businesses, churches and other organizations from around the area.
The sights and sounds of Wellesley, the festivals, food, culture, crafts and churches, are sure to fascinate everyone.
