The Open

Niagara Peninsula 5 Pin Bowlers’ Association held the Zone rounds for the Open. It consisted of 20 games of qualifying for the right to represent Niagara at the Provincial round in April 2017. Hillside lanes hosted the 1st 10 games of qualifying while Jeff’s Bowl-O-Rama hosted the 2nd round of the 10 games of qualifying. Moving on to the Provincials are: Derek Holmes, Adam Eckhardt, Matt Kowalyk, Paul Asselin, Roy Belanger and David Michael with coach Ralph Eckhardt for the men’s team. Ladies team has Tracy Smith, Valerie Vallee, Riekie Dutcher, Sarah Stevens, Becky Nieuwold and Wendy Powell being coached by Tim Dixon. Chris Lyttle was chosen to coach the mixed team consisting of Tyler Wendel, Mark Cote, Shawn Pellizari, Wendy Bonnette, Brianna Iannandrea and Vicky Robins. The Seniors team to represent Niagara are: Joe Tavani, Don Betts, John Wendel, Cathy Meerman, Wilma Vanderzwaag and Joanne Durocher. They will be coached by Brenda Fraser. So we wish them all good luck in the Spring
