Uptown Beauty Lounge Grand Opening

On December 1st 2016, we moved from our shared unit at King and Columbia to our big, bright, and beautiful location in Uptown Waterloo. We spent the next month getting settled in and preparing for our Grand Opening, which was scheduled for Thursday January 12th. Nothing could have quite prepared us for the support that we received.

At 4:00 pm on January 12th 2017, we locked the door and set up for our party. From our view inside, we began to notice a line forming at the edge of our unit, which was surprising as the weather was not fantastic! At 5:30 pm we opened the door and were completely ecstatic to see around 40 people spill in.

Though we were admittedly expecting a relatively large turnout, we were shocked at just how many city officials, council members, family, and friends came to show their support. We spent the night mingling, showing off the new place, listening to beautiful instrumentals by Juneyt Yetkiner, and snacking on delicious hors d’oeuvres courtesy of McCabe’s.

We want to extend our warmest gratitude to everyone that came out to see us! We had a fantastic evening and we hope all of our guests did as well. If you were unable to make it out to the event but would still like to visit, please pop in and let us show you around!
