The Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors.

The La Rocca Memorial Society (LMS) is a non-profit organization established in 2002 and is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors committed to bettering our communities and improving the lives of those around us.
We strive to acknowledge the amazing work of City of Vaughan youth, both inside and outside of their school environment by administering an annual Bursary Award Program that publicly recognizes youth aged 15-24 for their altruistic acts and exceptional commitment to community service. In doing so, we seek to inspire ongoing volunteerism and engage the next generation to become change makers.

In addition, LMS hosts several events on an annual basis aimed at encouraging young people to continue giving back and offering them opportunities to network with like-minded individuals. The goal is to foster a spirit of community and motivate the next generation to get involved and make a difference in the lives of others. LMS is dedicated to celebrating the successes of talented and selfless City of Vaughan youth who are exemplars in their communities.

La Rocca Square-where all the fun took place!
La Rocca Square-where all the fun took place!

On Sunday August 21, 2016, LMS organized a picnic in their City of Vaughan adopted park, La Rocca Square. The Board of Directors was joined by past bursary recipients, friends, family, and the surrounding community for a day filled with great food, lawn games and activities, and fantastic company. This was a complimentary event sponsored by the organization and Ital Vera Pizza in Woodbridge. Attendees enjoyed pizza, drinks, snacks, and desserts, and participated in games and activities that included soccer, scoops, frisbee, and badminton. Young children played with bubbles, chalk, kites, and jump-ropes. There was truly something for everyone! The La Rocca Memorial Society is excited to plan similar events in the future and looks forward to collaborating with all community partners and interested youth so that together, we may work together to enrich the City of Vaughan and its residents!
