The Upper Beaches is the neighbourhood that lies directly to the north of The Beaches in Toronto. It runs from Coxwell Avenue in the west to Victoria Park in the east and from the CN tracks in the north to Kingston Road in the south.
The Upper Beaches is one of Toronto’s newest neighbourhoods. In the early 2000’s, this neighbourhood was renamed the Upper Beaches by realtors and developers in an effort to attract more residents and new homebuyers to the area. The area is actually called the East End Danforth by the City of Toronto however, this name is very rarely used. Today, the Upper Beaches is a primarily middle and upper class community that is full of many small shops and restaurants.
