Music Mondays- The Allison Au Quartet - Aug 1st

Listening to this Quartet is like being serenaded and transported to a different world far away from downtown Toronto. That's the beauty of music... music makes you feel as though you are somewhere else and that's exactly what Allison did. And to add to this concert... all pieces are composed by Allison! Can you believe it?! She's a composer and a saxophonist and performer! Talk about being multi-talented! She's inspired by colors such as cerulean, which is a deep blue sky color. You could hear this color in the smooth lines of the saxophone and rising and falling melodic lines stimulating feelings of floating. The audience even got a special treat and heard one of her new singles that doesn't even have a name yet! It's called Sketch 1 and Allison calls out to the audience to help her name the piece.
Overall, this quartet is incredibly talented but laid back and down to Earth. Thanks for sharing your music with us Allison!
