Making a Complaint About the Police
The Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD) is the arm's-length agency of the Ministry of the Attorney General which receives, manages and oversees all public complaints about police in Ontario. As an independent police civilian oversight organization, it does not advocate for the police, the public or the government.
This presentation will discuss the background of the OIPRD, provide an overview of the complaints process, explain how to file a complaint and how they are investigated and resolved, and more.
Presented as part of Toronto Public Library's Civil Society program series.
