The 50th Annual Beaches Lions Easter Parade

Sunshine but cool. Thousands attended this years parade

Celebrating its 50th year, the Toronto Beaches Lions Club held its annual Easter parade on March 26, 2016. One of the only Easter parades in the city, this 2 hour parade features floats and marching bands celebrating the holiday.The festivities were capped off with an appearance by the Easter bunny riding a classic car, a slight variation on the old folk tale.

Over the years the Toronto Beaches Lions Club Easter Parade has grown into an event that the entire city enjoys. It attracts more than 50, 000 spectators of all faiths, religions and cultures. This is a very important event to the Beaches Lions Club, our community and the charitable organizations they serve.

Who, in 1935, of the 20 charter members could have imagined that the Toronto Beaches Lions Club (TBLC) would have such a long and successful future.

A club whose zeal and vibrancy has enhanced the quality of life for many East Toronto residents. Many of the
good deeds performed by the Lions go almost totally unnoticed by the general public. Whether it be gifts of money, donations of food, heating fuel, clothing - the list is almost endless.

When it comes to serving the community nobody does it better.

Even Darth Vader joined in on the action.

Some of the activities of the TBLC, however, are very obvious to the public. Events such as the Easter Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting, Canada Day celebrations, just some of the many activities sponsored and staged by the TBLC.
