Notable for its Edwardian style homes and variations of other early 19th century architecture, the neighbourhood of Woodbine Heights was developed earlier then its western neighbour Glebe Lands.
This is due to the horse racing facilities in the area and railway station which allowed for industrial as well as commerical development.
Notable landmarks include Toronto East General Hospital, a full teaching hospital founded in 1929.
The neighbourhood was mostly occupied by older residents, however has seen an influx of younger families seeking car-free city living as well as homes with character.
