One of the last areas with operating farms in Toronto, it wasn't until 1968 that Centennial Park was completely urbanized.
The last operating farm, a dairy, sold part of its land to the former Town of Etobicoke to construct Centennial Park for which the neighbourhood is named after.
Constructed to commemorate Canada's 100th birthday, the park was used as the site for the 1976 Summer Paralympics and most recently as the host of BMX cycling at the 2015 Pan American Games.
