St. Catharines, known throughout Ontario as the —Garden City—, is a community located to the north of Niagara Falls. St. Catharines is situated in an area for commerce and trade. Manufacturing is the city's dominant industry, as noted by the heraldic motto, "Industry and Liberality".
The Art of Peace Festival seeks to increase community engagement in art as a tool for reflecting on peace issues.
