Simcoe County Museum hosted "Under Construction"
On Sunday August 7, 2016 the Simcoe County Museum partnered with the Historical Equipment Association of Canada to host "Under Construction". This event was part of the Summer Sundays series and featured historical construction equipment from a variety of time periods. The Museum grounds were alive with over 40 equipment operators and construction action. Visitors could tour the event on the accessible people mover and witness how Simcoe County was built. The afternoon was filled with sun, steam, and ice cream. With every visitor encouraged to sample hand churned ice cream made in a reproduction of a late 19th century ice cream churn. The Simcoe County Museum also welcomed P & J Tours all the way from the United Kingdom for the event. These visitors came from as far as New Zealand and were construction equipment enthusiasts. The beautiful weather, experienced operators, and smiling visitors worked together to create one amazing day.
