Between nature and industry

Rexdale is an informally-defined area of Toronto. It is situated north-west of the central core, in the former suburb of Etobicoke.
The Rexdale is centered on Rexdale Boulevard and Islington Avenue.
The neighborhood is buffered by the colorful West Humber River Valley to the north at the same time an industrial corridor designs the southern boundary.
The Rexdale Plaza situated off Islington Avenue at Rexdale Boulevard is attached by a large Asian supermarket and includes a nice mix of independent and franchise stores.
The Woodbine Center placed at Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27 features roughly two hundred specialty shops. This shopping center is also popular for its indoor amusement park that is highlighted by an antique carousel, a ferris wheel, a train, and a children's play village.
The Sunnydale Acres, Rexdale, and Rexlington Parks all enclose wading pools. Tennis courts are placed at Sunnydale Acres, Flagstaff and Rexlington Parks.
Horse racing fans are steps away from the Woodbine Race Track positioned at the west end of this neighborhood off Rexdale Boulevard. This horse track features purebred racing during the daytime and harness racing in the evenings.
