Join CPAWS Ottawa Valley and our special guests, Gary and Joanie McGuffin and Dave Hadfield, on Wednesday, November 2nd at the National Gallery of Canada for an inspiring evening of film, art and music in support of wilderness conservation.
The evening features a special screening of the award winning film Painted Land: In search of the Group of Seven with the McGuffins (themcguffins.ca) who will share their unique story and their passion for art and conservation. The iconic images of the Group of Seven, whether of the the Algoma Highlands or Algonquin Park, have inspired generations of conservationists and continue to resonate today. These landscapes belong to all Canadians and CPAWS is proud to be working to protect them. Following the film, CPAWS friend Dave Hadfield (hadfield.ca) – wilderness lover, musician, adventurer and pilot will share some of his music and stories with us.
A silent auction featuring artwork by Becky Mason, John Barkley and other local artists will take place as well – arrive early to place your bids!
By purchasing a ticket and attending this event, you will be helping us continue our work to protect the spaces and species you love. From Gatineau Park to the Dumoine River, CPAWS-Ottawa Valley is your voice for wilderness in the region. Join us for this special evening celebrating Canadian wilderness.
