Durham Region Roller Derby Season Home Opener
Durham Region Roller Derby (DRRD) hosted its first home game of the season Saturday May 14th with a nail-biting doubleheader. The first game of the day saw a battle between DRRD's Atom Smashers against Ottawa’s Rideau Valley Roller Girls Sirens in a score of 200-177 for the Sirens.
Second game of the day had DRRD’s Farmers taking on Northumberland with a big win for the Farmers. The entire night was put together by volunteers in the league with support from friends and family, part of the proceeds and donations raised money for the Humane Society of Durham Region.
The next chance to see more roller derby action from DRRD will be Saturday June 4th with another exciting doubleheader featuring the Motor City Madames playing Lindsay Roller Derby and an equally exciting mens game with Toronto Outrage taking on Kalamazoo Roller Derby. Games will be held at Village Arena in Ajax with doors opening at 1pm, $10/person and children under 12 are free.
