Newmarket Folk Society presents Rick Fines with Roly Platt

Bluesman/songwriter Rick Fines has graced our stage many times over the years. Rick is a master of blues guitar, both the straight and slide styles of playing. His repertoire covers classic, traditional tunes but he also performs his own compositions. Rick was known for years as lead man for the well known group Jackson Delta and has since performed solo and in duo with Suzie Vinnick, amongst others. He has Juno nominations, many, many Maple Blues Awards to his credit. www.rickfines.ca
Roly Platt is one of Canada’s musical treasures being one of the best solo harmonica players in the country as well as an in-demand accompanist and recording session stalwart. While Roly is a great solo performer, he absolutely shines when in concert accompanying performer the caliber of Rick Fines. Who else has recorded 1700 album cuts, national jingles and movie scores? We are in for a real treat. www.rolyplatt.com
