The Hamilton Cardinals in conjunction with the Intercounty Baseball League and Kitchener Panthers today announced the dates and times for the upcoming first round series between the Cardinals and Panthers. Hamilton finished the regular season in seventh place with a 9-27 record while Kitchener finished the regular season in second place with a 28-8 record to earn home-field advantage in the first round of the 2017 IBL playoffs. During the regular season the Panthers swept the five game season series with the Cardinals.

This will be the fourth straight post season that Hamilton and Kitchener will face each other in the first round of the IBL playoffs. Last year the Panthers won the best of seven series four games to none. The seven-game series will begin in Kitchener at Jack Couch Park on Thursday August 3rd. Game two of the series will be held in Hamilton at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium on Saturday August 5th. First pitch for both games is slated for 7:30pm.

The following are the dates, along with locations and times, for the first-round playoff series between the Cardinals and the Panthers:

Game #1 - Thursday, August 3rd - 7:30 PM - Hamilton at Kitchener (Jack Couch Park)
Game #2 - Saturday, August 5th - 7:30 PM - Kitchener at Hamilton (Bernie Arbour Stadium)
Game #3 - Sunday, August 6th - 2:00 PM – Hamilton at Kitchener (Jack Couch Park)
Game #4 - Tuesday, August 8th - 7:30 PM - Kitchener at Hamilton (Bernie Arbour Stadium)
*Game #5 – Thursday, August 10th – 7:30 PM – Hamilton at Kitchener (Jack Couch Park)
*Game #6 – Friday, August 11th – 7:30 PM – Kitchener at Hamilton (Bernie Arbour Stadium)
*Game #7 – Saturday, August 12th – 7:00 PM – Hamilton at Kitchener (Jack Couch Park)
* If necessary

The Cardinals also announced that single game ticket prices for the upcoming playoffs will remain the same as the regular season. Tickets for fans 13-years of age and older are $5 each while fans 12-years of age and under are free.
