Ontario’s first Heritage Conservation District
Meadowvale Village is neighbourhood grasped in between highways 401and 407 in the northwestern part of Mississauga, west of Toronto.
Placed north of the Old Derry Road, the new Derry Road built in the mid-1990s is an extensive east-west thoroughfare going from Mississauga Road to Mavis Road.
The community is situated near the Credit River which lies to the east. Pine forests including other types of trees can be found along the Credit Valley.
In admission of its extant historical buildings, Meadowvale Village was recognized as Ontario’s first Heritage Conservation District in 1980.
The impressive houses that sustain in that well-preserved rural settlement are more than just charming glimpse of the past. Meadowvale Village also attempts a sense of “rootedness” for the big city which has grown up in the vicinity.
