RHMCBA Celebrates its 23rd Anniversary and New Leadership
Richmond Hill & Markham Chinese Business Association (“RHMCBA” or the “Association”) celebrated its 23rd anniversary and change of leadership on September 17. About 700 people attended the inauguration gala.
Mr. Andy Chan is the new President and is also the Association’s first second generation President. “My vision as new President will be to see the Association expand its footprint across the GTA’s diverse business community, as well as to successfully identify and further integrate the various fast-paced and growing municipalities in the Region, including Vaughan,” said Mr. Chan at the inauguration gala.
RHMCBA donated $15,000 of the proceeds from the gala to Markham Stouffville Hospital. “To celebrate the success of our business, we never forget to give back to the community,” said Mr. Leung, one of the co-chairs of the gala.
The gala was well attended with the officials from all three levels of governments and politicians, including the Honourable John McCallum, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship; the Honourable Michael Chan, Ontario Minister of International Trade; Mayor of Markham Frank Scarpitti, Mayor of Richmond Hill Dave Barrow and Mayor of Vaughan Maurizio Bevilacqua. Consul General Xue Bing of the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto also attended to witness the inauguration of Mr. Andy Chan and the new Board of Directors.
One of the event’s highlights was the performance of the famous foursome The Watch, one of Toronto’s most exciting new vocal quartets.
