Markham, a city in the Regional Municipality of York, situated within the Greater Toronto Area of Southern Ontario. Centrally located in the GT area, is Canada’s most diverse community and home to many of Canada’s leading life science and technology businesses. The Markham Civic Centre is the city hall of the city of Markham. The centre was designed by architect Arthur Erickson with Richard Stevens Architects Limited and opened on May 25, 1990.
Markham is outstanding with its rich heritage, vibrant neighbourhoods and leadership on the environment and urban design. The communities express the full range of human experience, from all stages of life, abilities and ethno-cultural tradition.
The cultural inheritance is a major part of what makes Markham unique.
