Burlington started to grow into the city that it is today in 1939, when the Queen Elizabeth Way was opened. Previously a farming town, this new highway ushered in a new era of industry in Burlington. New industry lead to new jobs and with new jobs, the population of Burlington exploded. Throughout the 1950's and 60's, many new residents flocked to Burlington.
Today, Burlington is still a rapidly expanding municipality of the Halton Region. With it being strategically located along several key transportation hubs, Burlington has become a lovely alternative for Toronto families seeking larger homes and more open spaces.
