Tri-City Roller Derby Mac and Cheese Fundraiser

Posted on Mar 30, 2017 by Tri-City Roller Derby

If you were not lucky enough to attend the 2nd Annual Mac and Cheese Fundraiser with Tri-City Roller Derby at Chainsaw this year, you have missed out!

Those who made it had the chance to try 15 versions of their favourite mac, indulge in countless sweet treats and test their luck by bidding on one of the numerous raffle items. This annual event is hosted by the Tri-City Roller Derby (TCRD) Travel Team! TCRD is a not for profit sports league and all the skaters pay to play! What better way to raise some funds, and create sport awareness then by bringing the best mac and cheese recipes in town together for an old fashioned cook off?

Let’s not forget that this was a competition! Though the ladies kept it friendly, there was some definite trash talk going on and in the end the people made their voices heard. First place went to the Travel Team’s very own Kristy Skelton. A close second was taken by Venus Fly Tramps Knotty Hooker, and finally in third we had a powerhouse VEGAN entry from the lovely ladies of Vegfest Guelph. The competition was fierce!

Our cooks were not the only people to walk away with a prize or two. After some hard core bidding, many left with a full tummy and something special from our raffle table. Just look at all that loot!

Don’t feel bad for having missed out. You will soon have another great opportunity to check out a fun filled evening with Tri-City. Mark your calendars because April 8th, 2017 is the opening night of Tri-City Roller Derby's 9th season!!

The evening will feature two of our regular home teams as well as the Juniors. This is a licensed and all ages event where beer and snacks will be available for purchase. After the game, stick around and join the skaters for some fun photo ops and program signing!
