Unique Gifts Open House Follow Up
Friday December 2, 2016 brought a mild and windy day in downtown Kingston. The warm weather did not dampen the spirits of the Vendors and Guests at the annual Unique Gifts Open House, hosted by Making Dreams A Reality ~ IPC in The Woolen Mill.
The office was transformed into a market that showcased local artists and business owners. Guest were treated to everything from locally produced honey and chocolate, to upcycled items, exclusive glass wear, jewelry and paintings. Authors Betty-Anne Howard and Trevor Strong were on hand with her books as well. Many folks brought their holiday shopping lists and supported local business in the process.
This event was also an opportunity to give back! The Thousand Island Playhouse in Gananoque was on hand to accept donations for their Young Company. This group is committed to introducing live performance to community members by giving performances across Eastern Ontario at schools, libraries, public parks, retirement residences and special events. In 2015, their performance of Rose’s Clothes, reached almost 7000 audience members.
The team at Making Dreams A Reality ~ IPC believes this is a wonderful cause and we are proud to say that over $1700.00 was donated at the Unique Gifts Open House. Thank you to everyone for your generosity :)
