The NAGs Players Find Gold with Rumpelstiltskin
The NAGs Players presented their final performance of the Pantomime Rumpeltstiltskin on Saturday February 11th at the Tranzac Club, capping a successful run of 8 performances from February 2nd to 4th and February 9th to 11th.
The play is a traditional English Pantomime written by Peter Bond and adapted by Lina Minniti and Ginty Burns. It tells the story of Hermione, the daughter of the Miller family who is forced to spin straw into gold for the King. When Rumpelstiltskin helps her to complete the task he demands her first born child for his mother the witch, unless she can guess his name.
With a Dame, a King, a pair of love struck cats, a wicked witch and of course Rumpelstiltskin, along with lots of rollicking good music, the play was a smash hit that sold out for most performances including both Saturday matinees.
The net proceeds from the matinees will be donated to Blessings in a Backpack.
The NAGs players have been producing plays at the Tranzac Club for more than 40 years. We normally produce 3 plays a year including a winter pantomime. Our next production is “The Garage Sale” by David King – a humorous look at family life which will be performed on the evenings of May 4-6 and 11-13, 2017. Visit our web site www.nagsplayers.com for more information and to book tickets (opens early April).
