DZIOMBA NAMED IBL BATTER OF THE WEEK

The Intercounty Baseball League announced today that Hamilton Cardinals infielder Jon Dziomba has been named the IBL’s Batter of the Week for the week of June 26 – July 2.

Over the past week Dziomba went eight-for-ten at the plate, collecting a triple and an RBI over a two-game span. The 29-year-old, Buffalo, New York native is in his first season with the Cardinals. In four games, this season Dziomba is hitting .550 with 11 hits, collecting a double, triple and a home run with four runs batted in.

The Hamilton Cardinals were scheduled to play the Royals tonight but due to Guelph suspending operations a couple of weeks ago Hamilton will be awarded a win. The team will return to action on Thursday night when they travel to Nelson Park in Burlington to face the Herd starting at 7:15 PM.
