
CELESTIJN NAMED PLAYBALL ACADEMY CANADA BATTER OF THE WEEK
The Intercounty Baseball League announced today that Hamilton Cardinals outfielder Dre Celestijn has been named the Playball Academy Canada Batter of the Week for the week of June 13-19.
Over the past week Celestijn went 11-for-17 at the plate, collecting a triple and a home run as well as six RBIs over a three game span. The 24-year-old from Willemstad, Curacao is in his fourth season with the Cardinals.
Celestijn and the Cardinals will hit the field tonight when they face the Majors in London starting at 7:35 PM. The next home game is on Friday night at Bernie Arbour as the Maple Leafs drive in from Toronto for a visit. Game time on Friday is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
