CARDINALS ANNOUNCE MAKE UP GAME DATES AND PLAYER SIGNING

Hamilton Cardinals announced today the four new dates for games that were postponed during the month of May. Last week, the team announced that the season opening game in Guelph that was scheduled for May 13th will take place this Saturday as part of a double header. Game one of the twin bill will start at 2:00 PM.

The remaining rainouts will have the following new dates and times;
Tuesday June 6th vs. Burlington Herd at Bernie Arbour Stadium – 7:30 PM (originally May 21st)
Tuesday June 13th vs. Toronto Maple Leafs at Bernie Arbour Stadium – 7:30 PM (originally May 26th)
Thursday July 6th at Burlington Herd at Nelson Park – 7:15 PM (originally May 25th)
Sunday July 30th vs. Barrie Baycats at Bernie Arbour (originally May 28th) – 1:00 PM Double Header

Also announced by the club was the signing of pitcher David Ertl. The right-handed Dundas resident spent last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the IBL where he started four games and appeared in seven others as a reliever, picking up three wins and a loss. This past collegiate season he played for the Lewis and Clark Community College Trailblazers. In six appearances on the mound for the Trailblazer, Ertl picked up two wins and a save while amassing a 0.96 ERA.

The Cardinals hope to take to the field to play their second game of the regular season tomorrow night (May 31st) when they travel to Toronto to face the Maple Leafs starting at 7:35 PM. The next scheduled home game is now on Friday June 2nd when the team hosts the Kitchener Panthers at Bernie Arbour starting at 7:30 PM.
