CARDINALS AND HCBA TEAM UP FOR A DAY OF BASEBALL

Posted on Jun 14, 2016 by Mike Marasco

The Hamilton Cardinals and Hamilton Challenger Baseball Association (HBCA) are teaming up for a day filled with baseball at Bernie Arbour Stadium on Sunday June 19th.

The day will start with the Cardinals and Challenger players teaming up for a challenger baseball game at 10:30 am. Following the game, the participants will have a meet and greet with the Hamilton Cardinals players while having lunch which will be provided by the organization.

Members of the HCBA will be on hand as the Cardinals take on the team’s Skyway Bridge rivals, the Burlington Bandits, which gets underway at 2 pm. The Hamilton Cardinals organization will provide a special admission fee to all Challenger Baseball participants and registered volunteers to the game.

Cardinals President, J.P. Molinaro says “We are lucky to be able to team up with an association such as the HCBA that does something so important for the challenged (disabled) athletes in our community.” Molinaro goes on to say “The entire Cardinals organization is excited that the HCBA will be joining us on June 19th as we continue to give back to the game we love in the city of Hamilton.”

The Hamilton Challenger Baseball Association is a non-profit charitable sports league for physically and developmentally challenged youth and adults ranging in age from 5 years to over 40 years. Approximately 150 players participate on teams and take part in social activities throughout the year. The HCBA provides sports and social activities for challenged athletes while developing skills, teamwork, sportsmanship as well as building self-esteem and confidence through participation and social interaction.
