The Financial District
The Financial District of downtown Toronto is the central core of Toronto’s business sector. It runs roughly from University in the west to Yonge Street in the east and from Queen Street West in the north to Front Street in the south.
The Financial District is where many Torontonians go to work. It is home to many banks, corporations, law firms, accounting firms and stockbrokers as well as insurance, marketing and advertising agencies. The Big Five banks are located here (CIBC, RBC, BMO, TD and BNS) as well as the Toronto Stock Exchange. The PATH (Toronto’s famous underground walkway) connects many of the buildings in this area. Union Station and the GO Transit system are both located here making this area very accessible for anyone living in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
