
The Entertainment District
Toronto’s Entertainment District centers around King Street West in downtown Toronto and it runs from Queen Street West to the Gardiner Expressway and from Spadina Avenue in the west to University Avenue in the east.
The Entertainment District is a neighbourhood of downtown Toronto full of bright lights, action and culture. There are many theatres, sports venues, bars, restaurants and nightclubs here. Many young working Torontonians live here because it is a very vibrant and urban area close to the financial core of Toronto. Many tourists also frequent this area and stay in Toronto’s Entertainment District because of its bustling atmosphere as well as its abundance of large hotels, boutique accommodations and condotels.
The very famous annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) happens in this neighbourhood every fall. It is a large festival that attracts thousands of Torontonians, tourists and even Hollywood stars. Roy Thomson Hall, the Princess of Wales Theatre, Royal Alexandra Theatre and Canada’s Walk of Fame are but a few of the attractions in this area.
