The "Danny"
East Danforth is a district in the east end of Toronto. It is situated on the eastern part of Danforth Avenue in the old city of Toronto.
It sweeps from the eastern edge of Greektown by Greenwood Avenue to the boundary of Scarborough at Victoria Park Avenue.
To the north of the neighbourhood is Old East York, earlier an independent municipality, but today intently mixed into the area. The southern border is the railway tracks, beyond the bounds of Leslieville and the Upper Beaches.
The "Danny" as this neighbourhood is tenderly known is notorious for its shopping area along Danforth Avenue. Shoppers World, an outdoor mall at the corner of Victoria Park and the Danforth is one of Toronto's largest discount malls.
The Danforth's many shops and restaurants reverse the multicultural flavor of the residents who live in this neighbourhood. The way down the long and vibrant Danfroth strip is crammed by trendy booths, offering a unique blend of products and services.
