Dundas Valley Orchestra Arts Dundas Weekend

We had a wonderful concert yesterday at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Dundas Ontario to celebrate Arts Dundas Weekend. We had guest soloists Ross Colbourne and Steve Parton playing guitars for Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Mandolins in G. We also had Michael Schulte playing violin for Vaughan William's The Lark Ascending. The DVO played music composed by local musicians some of whom are members of the Dundas Valley Orchestra. They included Leen Tuk, Seiichi Ariga, Mark Thomas and Peter Lloyd. Local dignitaries including Mayor Eiseneberger, Councillor Arlene VanderBeek, Frederick DeVries, music director of St. Paul's United Church, and Peter Banting of HAALSA played the Toy Symphony with the DVO. MPP Russ Powers presented an Ontario Trillium Grant to DVO President Jim Locke.
