Dundas Valley Orchestra at 40!
On Sunday November 4, 2108 the Dundas Valley Orchestra performed at St. Paul's United Church in Dundas to kick off our 40th Anniversary as an orchestra. Our program included music performed over the 40 years that we have been playing together as an orchestra. We played the Egmont Overture by Beethoven, The Radestsky March by J. Strauss Sr., Kaiser-Walzer by J. Strauss Jr, and Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Greig.
In addition we played Haydn's Dream by Mark Thomas, a commissioned work by our composer in residence. Our guest soloist flautist Sara Traficante played two pieces in memory of David Gerry, a former member of the DVO who passed away last year. The music played by Sara was Dance of the Blessed Spirits by Gluck and Concertino for Flute by Cecile Chaminade.
We want to thank our supporters and volunteers who make our concerts possible.
