Nestled between Highland Creek and Lake Ontario, Scarborough Village is one of the earliest settlements in former township of Scarborough.
Settled in the 1800s, the region borough provided access to Lakeshore and served as a throughway for soldiers during The War of 1812.
In 1832, the community was the first in Scarborough to have a post office and by 1856 established a subdivision consisting of a dozen or more dwellings.
By the end of the century was a small bustling community equipped with a brick school house, general store, blacksmith, farm supply store, a church and a railway house which was later converted into retail space.
