
The Peanut
Don Valley Village is a neighborhood in the city of Toronto. Placed between the Highway 401 in the South and Finch Avenue in the North, the Highway 404 is the Eastern boundary, and Leslie Street marks the West.
The impressive feature of Don Valley Village is its hill and dale topography which is composed from the nearby Don River Valley. The area is very well connected to the rest of the city.
The theater based at 35 Fairview Mall is the cultural and entertainment center of this neighborhood since 1976 and features regular performances produced by local theater groups.
One of the local marks is “The Peanut”, a section of the neighborhood that when viewed on a map, matches its namesake. At the North end of the peanut is a broad strip mall and shopping complex called the Peanut Plaza.
Fairview Mall is a considerable regional shopping center located at the north-east corner of Sheppard Avenue and Don Mills Road. "The Shops on Steeles and the 404" is mid size shopping center anchored by a national department store.
