The Boeing B-29 strategic bomber was the single most expensive weapon system of World War II. One of the most complex aircraft to manufacture at the time, it was rushed into service while still in flight development. Keith Hyde, aviation historian, will outline the requirements for the B-29, Boeing’s struggle to develop the bomber and its strategic (not atomic) role in the bombing of Japan.
