The Low Back Program

Posted on Mar 2, 2017 by Joanne Pineau

I'm Joanne Pineau a Certified Yoga Therapist and teach a very effective program for low back pain. I was a gardener for many years as well as a yoga teacher. Even though I stretched regularly it came to a point where I could no longer bend forward and do the work that had to be done in my garden. Weeding was too hard on my back and there was too much pain.

I started to look on the internet for a program that I could follow; an exercise program that would help heal my back and that's when I came across The Essential Low Back Program. I ordered the book and at that time, the 5 Cds to accompany the book and took myself through the program. Within a week of doing the exercises I started to feel better and by the end of week 3 my back pain was gone. So I started teaching some of these exercises in my regular yoga classes.

The participants loved the yoga - based exercises so a few years later I decided to take the training so I could teach the full program.

Since 2012 I've taken many people through the 6 week program and without exception all the participants experienced a reduction in pain. In fact, by the end of the program many had eliminated all pain medication.

This program is unique in many ways. It is very gentle, and the exercises can be adapted to you. If you cannot be on your hands and knees for example, you can do the exercises from a chair. The program also incorporates a relaxation component, and gentle movements and exercises that also strengthen the legs and the back. We meet once/week for 6 weeks and you practice the exercises every day using the manual and audio disc. This daily practice accelerates your recovery time.

You also learn how to continue on your own after the program has ended so you can continue to improve and care for yourself.

I am the only person in South Georgian Bay certified to teach this program that was clinically proven to reduce pain and restore health to your low back in 2 clinical studies funded by The National Institutes of Health with results published in 2 medical journals.

If you are tired of trying to manage back pain and want to heal it once and for all, this is the program for you!
