Entrepreneurship & Strategy: Identifying Opportunities
The entrepreneurial process begins with the pursuit of a perceived opportunity. Typically, opportunities are presented when there is an identified need to be addressed.
Dr. Philip Walsh, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship & Strategy in the Ted Rogers School of Management, leads a discussion on "design thinking" which is a five stage solutions-based process to problem solving that can assist entrepreneurs in developing ideas to capitalize on an opportunity. A specific example will be provided to illustrate how the design thinking process works.
