The ambience of a cottage community
Cliffcrest is a neighborhood in Toronto, Ontario. It is situated to the east of the central core, in the former suburb of Scarborough.
The neighborhood passes along Lake Ontario to the south and is bordered by Midland Ave. to the west, the Canadian National Railway to the north, and Bellamy Rd. to the east.
Cliffcrest is a district that looks and feels more like cottage country than a big city neighborhood. The residential area south of Kingston Road is filled with cottages that provide the ambiance of a cottage community. Some of these houses offer beautiful views of Lake Ontario.
The charm and natural beauty of this area stems from the spectacular Scarborough Bluffs, whose massive sandy cliffs peer out over the Lake Ontario shoreline.
Bluffers Park, situated along the Lake Ontario shoreline, features a large, sandy beach and many fine picnic areas. This lakeside park also features a marina, yacht clubs, and a popular waterfront restaurant.
The shopping aisle situated along Kingston Road offers an attractive mix of small shopping plazas and restaurants, as well as auto service centers, motels, a Canadian Tire department store and a large garden center. The retail section along Eglinton Avenue contains a mix of neighborhood plazas, a tropical food store and a fishing supplies store.
