The Clarington Region

Clarington is a community in the Durham region of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) within Southern Ontario. With its southern regions touching the shores of Lake Ontario, this mainly rural municipality of the Durham region also has the dramatic rolling hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine running through its northern region. Clarington has the largest land area in the Durham region and it is also the fastest growing community in the Durham region. Its three main urban centers are Newcastle, Courtice and Bowmanville while the some of Clarington's major employers include the Goodyear Company and the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.
