Well Seasoned Productions - Curtains Up on 50+
Where age is just a number… a musical theatre number!
Proudly introducing Well Seasoned Productions (WSP), Toronto’s newest theatre company led, inspired, performed, accompanied and created by professional Canadian artists aged 50+. Producers Lesley Ballantyne and Anne Wootten, along with artistic advisor Mark Cassius, possess an exceptional cumulative musical theatre background. They bring their collective expertise to an under-served area of the theatre industry – that of senior artists.
WSP has just wrapped up That’s Life!, our first revue in our inaugural season. We couldn’t have asked for a better start. Opening night is always a little nerve wracking, and when it’s the birth of a brand new company even more so! But we were thrilled at the success of our three performances and at the enthusiastic response of our audiences. 50+ has never looked better… or sounded better.
Audience members weighed in…
“A delightful afternoon of entertainment.”
“It was fun, nostalgic, reflective and just a bit weepy.”
“Well-mounted, well performed, joyous – a thoughtful and sensitive show.”
“It gave me a much-needed lift.”
“Fun to see so many great performers have the chance to shine again.”
Our next revue, Funny Bones, features comedy sketches and songs with a tongue-in-cheek look at life 50+. Our thoroughly entertaining cast includes Randy Vancourt, David Gale, Mark Cassius, Diane Fabian, Marcia Tratt and Nancy White. Join WSP as we fight the November blues with hilarity and good fun!
