The county of Wellington

The County of Wellington is made up of two towns and five townships, located on an area of around 1000 km and is located in south-western Ontario.

The County, which is blended with the Township of Guelph/Eramosa, is separated from The City of Guelph, which is part of the Wellington census division.
Many of its residents travel to work to Kitchener, Brampton, Mississauga, and even Toronto.

There are a number of local festivals and events that happen all year round. Also there are plenty of sites and activities that anyone can enjoy.
The Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum is unique as it is the only Railway Museum in Wellington County. It is located at the south end of the town of Minto in the northern part of the County.

The museum has on display numerous railway and Victorian artifacts that have been genially donated by members of the community and surrounding areas.

Since it is a non-profit organization, its regular hours are throughout the summer months of July and August. However, it is possible to book a personal or group tour.
Wellington County Museum and Archives is located in rural surroundings along the Grand River. The Museum has many picnic tables available to the public. Anyone may spend time outside in any of the distinct Heritage gardens with easy access to the Elora Cataract Trailway.

You can bike to Fergus which is the largest community in Centre Wellington, a township within Wellington County. You may choose to take a walk along the short easy hikes that loop around the Museum property, or you can hike to the geographically significant Elora Gorge.

In addition there are many other sites and activities that residents and visitors alike can enjoy.
