
The city of Kitchener
The City of Kitchener is a city in Southern Ontario. Kitchener is the seat of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
The metropolitan area, which includes the adjoining cities of Waterloo and Cambridge, is one of the largest Census Metropolitan Area in Ontario.
Kitchener and Waterloo are often referred to jointly as "Kitchener-Waterloo", K-W.
Kitchener is situated in the Saint Lawrence Lowlands. It is the largest city located within the Grand River watershed, and the largest city on the Haldimand Tract. The glacial kame Waterloo Moraine snakes its way through the region. The settlement's first name, Sandhills, is a precise description of the higher points of the moraine.
Some of Kitchener's cultural highlights are The Open Ears Festival, the Multicultural Festival, the Kitchener Blues Festival and KidsPark, many of which are free to the public.
