Successful GolPH for Pulmonary Hypertension!
The second annual GolPH for PH took place on Friday July 17, 2016 at the Lionhead Golf Club & Conference Centre in Brampton ON. It was a gorgeous morning. The fun filled day of golf was followed by a lunch and a silent auction. We had an excellent turnout with 82 participants this year and raised over $17,000 for PHA Canada. All proceeds will go to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada. This event is organized by Pat Paulin who's daughter was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) on March 2014 at the age of 24.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the event, including the participants, donors, sponsors and Lionhead Golf Club. And of course, a HUGE THANK YOU to the Paulin family who organized the event. Hole-in-one success!
What is Pulmonary Hypertension?
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a disease affecting the arteries of the lungs. It can affect anyone, regardless of age, sex, or social or ethnic background. In pulmonary hypertension, the arteries of the lungs become narrowed and scarred. This can result in almost complete closing of the arteries, and can lead to heart failure. PH is a life-threatening disease for which there is currently no cure. Read more about PH here: http://www.phacanada.ca
